Twitter launches Tor version to Bypass the censorship imposed by Russia

Twitter has launched a Tor version that is focused on confidentiality and protection
Alec Muffett, a software developer who works with businesses to construct onion sites, stated on Twitter that the platform has now added the Tor network to its list of supported browsers.

Twitter has released a new version of its service on the Tor network, which will allow users to have a more private experience while avoiding Russian restrictions. The new version was announced just a few days after Russia shut prominent social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook. The main rationale for blocking access to Twitter was to prevent the dissemination of misleading information and to exert control over what information domestic audiences saw about Ukraine's incursion. In case you're not aware, Tor's network encrypts and routes users' internet data across several servers in order to conceal their identity. The network, sometimes known as the "dark web," is used by various platforms to provide a more secure experience because Tor servers are invisible to search engines. Tor-specific versions of websites such as the New York Times and the BBC already exist.
Notably, Twitter's regular site was previously accessible via Tor, but the new version is supposed to be more secure with additional levels of security. To utilize Tor-specific Twitter, just go to Twitter onion Link

"It's a platform commitment to dealing with Tor users in an equitable manner,  Creating an onion address is a practical step that proves that the platform is deliberately catering to the demands of Tor users" Alec Muffett told The Verge.

Conclusion

The news comes only days after Russia cut Twitter access. Twitter hopes that by doing so, it would be able to provide users with a more secure and private experience while also increasing its presence on the Dark Web.
